Goodbye to Dr. Crussi, aFall 2000 THIS ISSUE OF The Child’s Doctor was edited by my co-editor Dr. Frank Gonzalez-Crussi. Frank is retiring at the end of 2000 from his distinguished academic career, most recently as chair of the Department of Pathology at Children’s Memorial Hospital. His contributions to this publication and to Children’s Memorial Hospital and Northwestern University Medical School have been outstanding. His retirement has occurred in an unusual manner, with his having been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship that has allowed him to spend two months in Paris and additional time in Chicago to devote to his other career. He is a widely acclaimed author and essayist and will be devoting full-time to those literary pursuits upon his retirement. We wish him well and look forward to his next book. Replacing Dr. Crussi as co-editor of The Child’s Doctor is Dr. Susan Luck, attending surgeon in Pediatric Surgery at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Susan brings her long involvement at Children’s Memorial Hospital and her literary/ editing skills to this new position, and we welcome her warmly. |
